1000 Photos Amsterdam

Client : 1000 Photos Amsterdam
Réalisation : Création de l’identité graphique et des supports de communication.

1000 Photos Amsterdam is a collaborative photography event: over the period of a month, photos are collected –donated by professionals and amateurs– and events are organized around the theme of Photography (evening talks, workshops, daily curated selection of pictures…). The collected images create a growing DIY exhibition open to the public, culminating in a one-night charity sale-evening-party to support a specific charity organisation. The 2013 edition was raising funds for Young in Prison.

For 1000 photos, I created a visual identity based on elements, signs and typography referring to the visual language of analog photography and cameras. It being the first edition, many things were decided upon and adapted along the way which demanded a dynamic and responsive design approach to create –as the demand came– a great amount of posters, flyers, « how-to » manuals, photography certificates, exhibitions signs (and so on…) over the month period prior to the grand « finale » charity party. The design was also used to create a facade for the Melkweg gallery, using the street windows as a vitrine to present the festival program and concept, up-coming events, daily selection of pictures, etc.
